Turnkey Applications:

Mobile-Venue Suite™

In Europe and Japan, games and entertainment-oriented applications are among the leading uses of the wireless web. In order to continue to drive this trend in globally, Wireless Dimensions is introducing its Mobile-Venue Suite™ of products. Targeted at stadium events and other venues, the product will provide a complete, patented platform for wireless gaming, trivia, contests, vending/concessions and merchandise sales. Designed to operate with WAP-compatible devices, Mobile-Venue Suite™ consists of the following components:
  • m-Merchandiser™ -- Enables delivery of merchandise to a stadium seat or another designated address. Since merchandise does not need to be physically located in the stadium, this capability allows the merchandiser to introduce a wider range of high-end merchandise for availability.

  • m-Concessionaire™ -- Enables delivery of merchandise to the stadium seat so that attendees to an event do not need to stand in line.

  • m-SportsStats™ -- Allows sports enthusiasts to do a free search on popular sports statistics, both historical and real-time information. Can be tiered so that box seat holders have access to a wider array of statistics than other attendees.

  • m-Trivia™ - Used as a primer for m-Quiz, attendees to an event can research sports facts and figures as an aid to "winning" contests on m-QuizTM.

  • m-Quiz™ - Creates contests, sweepstakes, and drawings using either multiple-choice or open-ended questions. Winners collect points that can be traded in on merchandise or concession discounts.

  • m-Schedule™ - Used to provide schedules of events with location and transportation information. For use in complex events such as the Olympics or festivals.

  • m-Emergency™ - Allows attendees to an event to report a theft or other crime, lost child, or medical emergency.

Most importantly, Mobile-Venue Suite™ is designed to work both in as a Local-Area Venue™ product (inside the stadium) as well as a Wide-Area Venue™ product (supporting television and radio audiences).

Key elements of the Mobile-Venue Suite™ product line include:

  • Use of WDC's unique, patented wireless location technology for delivery of merchandise to a temporary location;
  • An ASP market approach, circumventing the need for up-front capital expenditure on the part of stadium owners and managers;
  • Support for WAP, the industry standard for wireless web-based applications, and other wireless protocols;
  • Ability to insert advertising messages into trivia and quiz components in order to create an additional revenue stream;
  • Scaleable platform to meet the needs of a wide range of venues.

Mobile-Venue Suite™ is air-interface-independent and will operate on all of the major wireless networks throughout the world. It will also operate on wireless data networks. It will evolve seamlessly to run on next-generation networks. In addition, the WAP protocol is supported on a wide variety of handheld devices, including cellular/PCS telephones, palmtop computers, and PDAs. Industry analysts project that by 2004, the number of wireless Internet devices will outnumber wired Internet devices.
